Yesterday we had the privilege of joining Vocus for their annual Demand Success conference featuring some of the best minds in the business including Randi Zuckerberg, former Facebook marketing lead and author of “Dot Complicated”; Avinash Kaushik, Google’s digital marketing evangelist; Adrian Grenier, star of “Entourage” and co-founder of SHFT; and Judy Smith, renowned crisis communicator and inspiration for the TV series “Scandal.”
The Shorty Awards team stopped by to hear from the experts, in sessions ranging from: how to turn branded content into highly visual, shareable content; deploy innovative online strategies; build brands; and measure efforts to produce more leads and ROI.
Here were the day’s best moments:
Michael joined VCCP on its first day of business in 2002, becoming Managing Director in 2006 and CEO in 2012. In recent years VCCP has built itself a reputation for business transformation as evidenced by the likes of O2, comparethemarket.com and easyJet.
Michael started his career at Claydon Heeley before moving to HHCL. During his career he’s been privileged to work on brands such as O2, Unilever, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Telefonica and British Gas amongst others. The proudest part of his career is being part of the team that has built VCCP to a 500 strong agency in 12 short years.
Michael A. Bassik was previously Managing Director and U.S. Digital Practice Chair at Burson-Marsteller, a leading global public relations and communications firm. He oversaw a team of 125 award-winning strategists, designers, developers and analytics professionals around the country working on behalf of over 100 clients, including more than 50 Fortune 500 companies.
In addition to his role at Burson-Marsteller, Michael is also CEO of Proof Integrated Communications – a full-service integrated marketing and advertising firm within WPP – where he provides strategic planning and oversight of the agency’s media, marketing, creative, technical and digital operations.
A pioneer in the field of digital and political communications, Michael has lead effective campaigns on behalf of clients including HP, Ford, Intel, Coca-Cola, Marriott and the Democratic National Committee.
