The future of comedy is on the social web: Announcing the #EmergingComedian finalists and jurors

The Shorty Awards are breaking the barriers of comedy and recognizing the future of “funny.”  You guessed it!  Comedians are going social and the Shorty Awards, in partnership with the New York Comedy Festival in association with Comedy Central, will crown the royal heir to the future of social comedy with the #EmergingComedian Shorty Award!

Meet the finalists, our distinguished panel of judges and join us on Sunday, November 13th at 4pm for a stand-up performance by the #EmergingComedian winner at the NYCF Laugh More NYC show, hosted by Elvis Duran!

He primarily uses this Twitter account to share information about his comedic projects and link to other social media sites such as Tumblr and Foursquare.

#3 Chip Chantry, @ChipChantry

Chip Chantry is a stand-up comedian from the Philadelphia suburbs of Montgomery County who performs at comedy clubs, college campuses, and rock venues around the country. In 2009 he gave an interview to the comedy magazine The Comedians and talked about being an elementary school teacher during the day and a comic by night.  He uses Twitter as an extension of his humor, as well as a way to share jokes with fans, other comedians, and Philly-based twitterers.
