You no longer need to appear in a film, TV show, or win a national competition to become famous. Today’s breakout celebrities now emerge as YouTube stars earning millions and millions of views for what is sometimes just a bite on a finger. YouTube stars now use Twitter, Facebook and the social web, to share their videos and grow to limitless fame.
The #YouTubeStar Shorty Award, created in partnership with @AETV’s Breakout Kings, will be awarded to a YouTube star and breakout celebrity whose unorthodox and innovative use of Twitter, Facebook and social media has allowed them to become famous and take their careers to the next level.
