Making Sure Your Votes Count

Every democratic process has its version of a hanging chad. The Shorty Awards are no exception.
Some of you have pointed out that you submitted nominations that are not appearing as votes on our site. This is because Twitter Search doesn’t index every tweet due to resource constraints, and the Shorty Awards system uses the Twitter Search API to pull in your tweets.
We have a workaround to this problem now: Nominations and votes submitted though the ShortyAwards.com site will be counted 100 percent of the time.
Votes submitted directly on Twitter.com or through a Twitter client will most likely be counted, but some might be missed because of resource limitations in Twitter Search. If you notice a tweet that doesn’t appear on our site, please send the URL permalink of the tweet (e.g. http://twitter.com/gregory/status/7392722116) to us through this form so our tireless auditors can count the vote.
A Shorty nomination is a terrible thing to waste. Please help us spread the word on making votes count!
