The Shorty Awards are thrilled to announce that for this year’s Shorty Awards (voting will begin in January) we’re launching an official #BNCollege category with Barnes & Noble College! The #BNCollege award will be presented to the Barnes & Noble College campus that most effectively uses social media to drive campus engagement with students, faculty and the entire campus community while, most importantly, celebrating the school’s authentic spirit and attitude. Accounts nominated in this category must be a B&N College partner. Here’s how you can get ready to support your college when voting opens in January!
1. Let your #BNCollege’s social media team know about the category: Tweet at them using this Click to Tweet (make sure to add your B&N College’s Twitter handle): (http://clicktotweet.com/8vMaa)
2. Prepare a campaign video to a make a big splash when voting opens: University social media managers and should work with students to make a 15-30 second campaign video on why students, faculty, and more should nominate them in January. Here’s an example of one from How I Met Your Mother.
3. Blog about the #BNCollege award to spread the word about nominations in January: Create a blog post letting everyone know that in early January they should get ready to nominate your college via Twitter by going to ShortyAwards.com and tweeting with the words “I nominate @YourBNCollege for a Shorty Award in #BNCollege because…” and to make sure to add a reason.
